Assembly Lou Correa Legislative Leadership Award
Since going to Sacrament since 1998, law enforcement has been a top priority for Assemblyman Lou Correa every year. His recent pieces of legislation address topics of concern to CCLEA and proponents of law enforcement everywhere. These include issues such as DNA testing, victims of crime, criminal regulation and enforcement, workers compensation, disability, retirement, Police Officers Bill of Rights Act improvements, and the California Police and Fire games.
In past legislation session, it is Assemblyman Correa’s that can be seen on bills such as Assemble Bill 1742, which extended the status of limitation in rape and sexual assault cases which could be successfully prosecuted through DNA testing, and Assembly Bill 1937 which allowed 3% @ 50 retirement formula for safety members. These are just a few examples of Assembly bills that Assemblyman Correa has carried that not only benefited law enforcement, but citizens of California as well.
Assemblyman Correa has demonstrated that he is there for California law enforcement whenever we need him. He has proven time & time again that he has California law enforcement’s best friends and most capable resource in the legislature.
